Intelligent Buildings

The City Hall & Counter is at the heart of the city and offers citizens and businesses a wide range of municipal services and products, such as issuing passports, levying taxes, etc. Moreover, it is by definition a great meeting place.

Today's facilities require you to make an appointment online and at the City Counter you need to get a number and wait for your turn. This is a waste of time and a waste of opportunity. City planners, businesses and the public are asking for transparency, involvement, and the breakdown of physical and bureaucratic barriers, working towards instant physical and digital services.

Shintõ Labs would like you to imagine the City Counter of the future. What does it look like? Is it physical, digital or a combination of both? How can it provide its customers with the info they need, when they need it and where they need it? Think about connecting people with politicians, civil servants with citizens & businesses. Think smart bots giving answers to visitors before they even know their question - e.g. ‘now that you’re here, you might as well renew your drivers license’. Think about augmented reality overlaying digital information on real-world services. How to create public value with an intelligent City Counter?

Shintõ Labs will provide you with several visitor scenarios as context (e.g. “renew a driver’s license”).

Floor plan
An abstract floor plan of the City Counter that allows you to simulate positioning inside the building. The map contains a grid that resembles the precision of the beacon or indooratlas technology. Visual markers provide insight of the location of main objects such as entrance, counter, offices, desks, etc.

pictures of the walls and relevant objects of the City Counter. In each picture, Shintõ Labs will mark relevant objects and describe its position on the floor plan.

Shintõ Labs will provide a REST API that allows you to request visitor scenarios and location intelligence.

The goal is an intelligent City Counter that delivers true value to the public. If you are able to dream up a spectacular combination of digital and physical services, you’re on the right track. If you are able to build a prototype that sports intelligent breakthrough technologies, you are on your way to the podium. When your solution demonstrates ease-of use, added-value and a natural flow of services that the public will enjoy, you will be our champion.
